Getting Started
Who can apply for a Zerne Capital loan?
Any Nigerian citizen or resident aged 21–55 with a verifiable source of income and a valid Bank Verification Number (BVN) can apply. For SME Capital, your business must be registered with the CAC.
What documents do I need to apply?
- Valid government-issued ID (NIN, driver's licence, passport, or voter's card)
- BVN
- Bank statement (last 3–6 months)
- Proof of income (payslip or employment letter for salaried workers)
- Utility bill or tenancy agreement (for address verification)
How long does approval take?
Most applications receive a decision within 24–48 hours. Simple Consumer BNPL applications at partner merchants may be approved in under 5 minutes.

What is Consumer BNPL?
Consumer BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later) allows you to purchase electronics, appliances, fashion, and more at partner merchants and repay in fixed monthly instalments. No collateral required.
How does SME Capital work?
SME Capital provides working capital and growth financing to registered Nigerian businesses. Loans are based on your business revenue and trading history, not just collateral. Repayment is structured around your cash flow cycle.
What is Trade Micro-Credit?
Trade Micro-Credit is revolving inventory credit for retailers and market traders. We pay your supplier directly, and you repay from daily sales via GSI. No collateral or CAC registration required.
Can I use Travel Financing for any trip?
Yes. Travel Financing covers flights, hotels, packages, transport, insurance, and visa fees. Repayment is split into a pre-travel deposit and post-travel instalments.
Repayment
How do I repay my loan?
Repayment options include:
- Direct debit from your linked bank account
- Bank transfer to our designated collection account
- GSI (Global Standing Instruction) for automatic recovery
- Cash deposit at partner bank branches
Is there a penalty for late repayment?
A late payment fee applies after a 3-day grace period. Persistent default may result in credit bureau reporting, additional charges, and legal recovery action. We encourage early communication if you anticipate repayment difficulties.
Can I repay early?
Yes. Early repayment is encouraged and carries no penalty. Interest is calculated only for the period the loan is active.
Account & Security
Is my BVN safe with Zerne Capital?
Yes. Your BVN is encrypted at rest and in transit. It is used solely for identity verification and credit assessment. We comply with NDPR and CBN data protection guidelines. We never sell or share your BVN with unauthorised parties.
What happens if I forget my password?
Use the "Forgot Password" link on the login page. A secure reset link will be sent to your registered email address.
How do I update my profile or bank details?
Log in to your dashboard and navigate to Profile > Edit Profile. Some changes (e.g., BVN, name) may require additional verification.
